Getting Started

What is Tynn?
Tynn is a workflow partner designed to keep you in the creative lane. It's an opinionated project management tool built for creators who want structure without the overhead. Tynn helps you organize ideas, manage versions, and move work to Done.
How do I get started?
Simply sign up for a free account and create your first project. After creating a project, grab the MCP configuration from the project settings page to connect AI agents. Then start creating versions, stories, and tasks.
Is Tynn free?
Yes, Tynn is currently free during our beta period. We're focused on building the best workflow partner for creators.
What makes Tynn different?
Tynn is built with an opinionated workflow (Version → Story → Task) that keeps work moving. VIP (Very Important Patch) work can skip the normal workflow for urgent patches. It's designed for AI collaboration via MCP, offers flexible views at every level, and focuses on flow over features.

Workflow & Features

What is the workflow structure?
Tynn uses an opinionated three-level hierarchy: Versions contain Stories, and Stories contain Tasks. VIP (Very Important Patch) versions can skip the normal workflow for urgent patches that need immediate attention.
Does Tynn support both List and Kanban views?
Yes! Versions, Stories, and Tasks all support both List and Kanban views. Switch between them based on what works best for your workflow.
What are Wishes?
Wishes are a way to capture ideas, feedback, and unplanned work before it becomes a Story. You can convert Wishes to Stories when you're ready to prioritize them.
What is the WIP page?
The WIP (Work In Progress) page shows all active stories and tasks across your project in one streamlined view. Perfect for focusing on what you're currently working on.
What is VIP?
VIP stands for Very Important Patch. The VIP page is for handling urgent patches that can't wait for the next planned version. Create VIP versions for hotfixes and critical patches that need immediate attention.
Can I add comments to work items?
Yes! You can add comments to Stories and Tasks to discuss work in context, document decisions, and capture rationale.

Collaboration & Access

Can my Team use Tynn without an Organization?
Yes—Teams are independent and can exist without an Organization. You can create Teams and share projects with them directly.
How do I share projects with others?
You can share projects by user, Team, or Organization. Projects can be owned by Organizations, Teams, or individual users. Control access with role-based permissions.
What are the different access roles?
Tynn supports three roles: Maintainer (full control), Contributor (can create and edit), and Viewer (read-only access).
Can I invite external collaborators?
Yes—you can share projects with any user, Team, or Organization. External collaborators can be invited via email.

AI & Integrations

What is MCP integration?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) allows AI agents to seamlessly integrate with Tynn. Agents can read and write project data, helping you organize and manage your roadmap.
How do I connect AI agents to my project?
After creating a project, go to the project settings page and grab the MCP configuration. This configuration allows AI agents to connect to your project via the Model Context Protocol.
What are the tailored prompts?
Tynn provides custom prompts for AI agents: Think with Tynn (planning), Build with Tynn (execution), Wish with Tynn (capturing ideas), VIP with Tynn (Very Important Patches), and Audit with Tynn (security reviews).
Is there an API?
API access is coming soon. Tynn will provide a RESTful API with cursor pagination, filtering, and scoped access tokens for custom integrations.
